Shieltronics focuses sharply on the development of biological degradable plastics, the so-called biopolymers. At this very moment the applicability of these polymers is from a technical point of view not possible for our intended purpose:
1. Biopolymers have too limited temperature stability characteristics.
2. During heating inside a microwave cavity undesired, organic odours will come free.
Both aspects will form a major drawback of enabling the usage of these biopolymers as an alternative for polypropylene for instance. This doesn't take away the fact that it could be a matter of time; therefore Shieltronics feels it has an obligation to keep up with all relevant biopolymer developments.
